E. Jakarta Headmen Obliged to Patrol Until Dawn as Brawl Anticipation

Every Saturday night, the patrol must be conducted in each area, starting from at 1-6 AM. Don’t let brawl happening again

The whole sub-district and urban village head in East Jakarta are obligated to impose a patrol picket until dawn, especially on Saturday night. It aims to minimize brawl among citizens.

Police Asked to Act Decisively in Arresting Brawl Perpetrators

“Every Saturday night, the patrol must be conducted in each area, starting from at 1-6 AM. Don’t let brawl happening again,” said East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana, Tuesday (3/3).

Musyawardhana asserted, besides patrol, every headman must be able to encourage citizens to hold on the kinship and avoid hostility. "If the brawl was still found, I would give sanction, ranging from verbal warning, written warning, and demotion," he stressed.

He stated that at least six areas in urban village are prone to brawl. They consist of Kampung Pulo (Kampung Melayu), Penggilingan, Setu, Lubang Buaya, Pondok Kopi and Klender. "However, there are two urban villages that need serious attention, namely Penggilingan and Setu," he expressed.

On the other hand, his side always involved the army and police to anticipate brawl in such areas. “Certainly, the brawl actors will be sanctioned decisively," he insisted.
